Join us at the Leica Store DC on Sunday, October 26th from 1-3pm for our monthly Coffee, Cameras, & Conversation event where we will discuss the importance and history of the Contact Sheet.
Even in today's world of digital photography, creating a contact sheet is an important step to assist photographers and clients in choosing the right image!
We will examine the contact sheets from some of the great photographers in history.  There will also be some time dedicate to showing you how to create a digital contact sheet using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
Please feel free to bring in your own contact sheet to show to the group if you would like.

Leica Store Washington DC is pleased to present Frank Hallam Day’s recent series on artisanal fishing along the Atlantic coast of Ghana. He spent several weeks among fishing communities there, going out on overnight deep sea fishing runs in large wooden dugouts, and observed everything in the failing industry from boat building to the eventual shipment of smoked fish to parts of the country far from the sea.

This 1-day workshop aims to educate and enlighten photographers on how to make money in the nonprofit photography industry.

Our day will feature two core lectures and a professional panel with three photo editors from some of the international nonprofits based in DC. We will dive into the questions: What are editors looking for in your nonprofit portfolio? How can photographers make themselves more marketable to domestic and international nonprofits? What options are available for long-term projects like crowd funding and grant writing? How can nonprofits be an avenue for quality storytelling?

This workshop will be a mixture of inspiration, art and business. Every level of photographer will be able to grow and expand their knowledge of nonprofit documentary photography.
